Improving defect prediction with deep forest.

•This article proposed a new deep forest model to build the defect prediction model (DPDF).•The model takes full advantage of ensemble learning and deep learning to identify more important defect features.•An empirical study on 25 open source projects from two public datasets shows the effectiveness of the model.
