摘要

•BFRP sheets and steel plates are used to reinforce heavily pre-cracked RC beams.•Reinforcement forms have little effect on the initial stiffness of the beams.•BFRP sheets can bear moment loads earlier than steel plates.•The steel plates can make the beams have a higher safety reserve.
