Effects of gas puff and pump on plasma detachment associated with molecular activated recombination in GAMMA 10/PDX

•Combination of gas puff and pump changes the reaction rates of molecular activated recombination.•With and without the pump, electron temperature decreases by supplying additional hydrogen gas.•The decrements in density and ion flux with the pump are smaller in the same temperature range.•Rovibrational temperature of hydrogen molecule is not changed by the pump.•Hydrogen molecule density with the pump is lower at the same electron temperature.
