SAT-278 COMPARISONS OF MICROWAVE ABLATION TREATMENT IN PATIENTS WITH SECONDARY AND PRIMARY HYPERPARATHYROIDISM

Parathyroidectomy (PTX) is the first choice of treatment for patients with severe uremic secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) and primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT). However, patients with serious cardiac and/or pulmonary comorbidities are at increased risks of complications of general anesthesia. To alleviate clinical symptoms, microwave ablation (MWA) of hyperplastic parathyroid glands may be feasible for patients who are not eligible for PTX. The aim was to compare the key points of techniques and evaluate the safety and efficacy of MWA in SHPT and PHPT patients.
