摘要

•Carambola-like Al2O3-mel was prepared by melamine-Al(NO3)3 complex assisted hydrothermal process.•The Al2O3-mel has an open structure with stronger Lewis acidic sites.•Al2O3-mel acts as an excellent carrier for Pt-Sn catalyst for propene production from propane.•The origin of the much superior catlysis is explored.•The work generates an outstanding catalyst for propene production.
