Superior photocatalytic dye degradation under visible light by reduced graphene oxide laminated TiO2-B nanowire composite

摘要
•Specific surface area and pore volume of TNWs grossly increased in R(GO/TNW) composites grown by hydrothermal technique.•Notably narrow band gap R(GO/TNW) with visible absorption increased via synergistic effect of RTNW, RGO and Ti3+ defects.•Increased adsorption due to the π-π stacking interactions between GO and the dye molecules.•Improved visible light dye degradation efficiency (∼96%) with a superior rate constant (∼0.028 min−1) in R(GO/TNW).•Photo generated holes, electrons, superoxide and hydroxyl radicals controlling the dye degradation process.
