Fe-Pt Nanoclusters Modified Mott-Schottky Photocatalysts for Enhanced Ammonia Synthesis at Ambient Conditions

•Solar-driven ammonia synthesis was promoted by FePt-modified Mott-Schottky photocatalysts.•The incorporation of Pt2+ dopant can alter the magnetic and electronic properties of Fe nanoclusters.•Schottky barrier builds up a channel for the delivery of photoexcited electrons from semiconductor to active sites.•The resulting upward band bending provides a more efficient separation of photogenerated charge carriers.
