摘要
In this paper, based on the idea of the metamaterial designing, we present a design and analysis of a polarization-selective metasurface (PSM), providing a dual-band response. The proposed PSM is composed of three metallic layers. The two external layers are formed of combinations of short and long metal wire with periodic arrangement and structural dimensions, while the middle layer consists of double-square loop arrays. Four polarization-selective operating bands occur at C-, X-band for TE polarization wave, and at Ku-, K-band for TM polarization. In each passband, the insertion loss is less than 0.5 dB. Using − 3 dB transmission as the threshold of the operating bandwidth, the bandwidths are 1.39 GHz (5.58–6.97 GHz), 1.54 GHz (10.31–11.85 GHz), 2.24 GHz (15.36–17.60 GHz) and 2.23 GHz (23.37–25.60 GHz), respectively. The measured results show that the proposed PSM has a good reconfigurable characteristic and insensitivity of incidence angles from 0° to 60°. The excellent polarization-selective characteristics can be applied in satellite communication systems as a polarization wave generator or polarization separation.
