Evidence of ferromagnetic ordering at low temperatures in epitaxial TbMnO3 thin films grown by means of DC magnetron sputtering

•Epitaxial TbMnO3 thin films are grown via dc magnetron sputtering.•The TbMnO3 films are epitaxial and (00ℓ)-oriented.•The films show well-defined transition at T < 42 K.•Weak ferromagnetism is observed in undoped TbMnO3 films.•Hysteresis loops with coercive fields of 1000 Oe are observed at 5 K.
