•SPS process produced dense and homogeneous microstructures based on Ti6Si2B compound and two-phase Ti + Ti6Si2B alloys.•The amount of closed pores was reduced for the Si- and B-richer Ti-Si-B alloy.•SPSed Ti-22Si-11B alloy presented better corrosion resistance than Ti-Zr-20Si-10B, Ti-13Nb-13Zr, Ti-6Al-4V and pure Ti.
