Long-lived localized magmatism in central-eastern part of the Pernambuco-Alagoas Domain, Borborema Province (NE Brazil): Implications for tectonic setting, heat sources, and lithospheric reworking

•Plutonism in eastern Borborema occurred semi-continuously from 657 to 562 Ma.•Protolith’s intrusion of c. 660–640 Ma-old orthogneisses was coeval with sedimentation.•Older orthogneisses probably record syn-extensional magmatism.•c. 630–600 Ma-old orthogneisses coeval with regional deformation and metamorphism.•c. 590–560 Ma-old plutons are related to strike-slip shearing.
