摘要
Abstract Purpose To report the psychiatric symptoms observed in three patients diagnosed with myelin-oligodendrocyte-glycoprotein antibody-positive autoimmune encephalitis (MOG-associated AE). Methods Retrospective chart review and summation of clinical care observations in the treatment of three pediatric patients diagnosed with MOG-associated AE at a tertiary medical institution. Results MOG-associated AE patients may present with neurocognitive impairment, delirium, psychosis, severe anxiety, memory difficulties, insomnia, paranoia, and decreased consciousness. Time from disease-onset until diagnosis ranged from four weeks to seven years. Conclusions MOG-associated AE should be in the differential diagnosis of pediatric patients presenting with optic neuritis/multiple sclerosis-like symptoms paired with acute neuropsychiatric symptoms.
