Design and experiment of dual micro-vibration isolation system for optical satellite flywheel

•A dual isolation method for the flywheel of optical satellite is proposed.•The feasibility of dual isolation system is verified by the imaging test.•The decay time of precession induced by the flywheel gyroscopic effect is analyzed.•The pixel offset RMS value with and without isolation is compared by the on-ground test.
