Measurement of 14.54 MeV Neutron Induced Reaction Cross Sections of Cr and Mn with Covariance Analysis

The Cr-50(n,2n)Cr-49, Cr-52(n,2n)Cr-51, Cr-52(n,p)V-52, Mn-55(n,2n)Mn-54, Mn-55(n,alpha)V-52 and Mn-55(n,gamma)Mn-56 reaction cross sections at the neutron energy of 14.54 +/- 0.24 MeV were measured by using activation method along with offline gamma-ray spectrometry. The Al-27(n,p)Mg-27 monitor reaction was used for the Cr-52(n,p)V-52 and Mn-55(n,alpha)V-52 reactions, whereas the Au-197(n,gamma)Au-198 monitor reaction for the Mn-55(n,gamma)Mn-56 reaction. The Al-27(n,alpha)Na-24 monitor reaction was used for other three reactions. The neutron beam was generated from the T(d,n)He-4 reaction using the Purnima neutron generator at BARC, Mumbai. The covariance analysis for the uncertainties of reaction cross sections was performed by considering the correlations between different attributes. The present results were compared with the literature data, evaluated data of ENDF, ROSFOND, CENDL, JENDI. and JEFF libraries as well as with the theoretical values based on TALYS-1.9 calculation.
