摘要

•Familial hypercholesterolemia is present in ≈3% of myocardial infarction patients.•Those with familial hypercholesterolemia are 12 years younger than other patients.•Crude 5-year survival is similar in patients with familial hypercholesterolemia.•After adjustment, their risk is twice that of non-FH patients.•Increased risk is also present when high-dose lipid-lowering therapy is used.
