Pperdine compounds useful as malonyl-coa decarboxylase inhibitors

The present invention provides methods for the use of com pounds as depicted by structure I, pharmaceutical composi tions containing the same, and methods for the prophylaxis, management and treatment of metabolic diseases and dis eases modulated by MCD inhibition. The compounds dis closed in this invention are useful for the prophylaxis, man agement and treatment of diseases involving in malonyl-CoA regulated glucose/fatty acid metabolism pathway. In particu lar, these compounds and pharmaceutical composition con taining the same are indicated in the prophylaxis, manage ment and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer and obesity.
