摘要
This is technical code for the risk models described in" Development and validation of lifestyle-based models to predict incidence of the most common preventable cancers". This code enables calculation of an individual's estimated risk of developing one or more of the five most common preventable cancers in the UK (lung, colorectal, bladder, kidney and oesophageal for men and breast, lung, colorectal, endometrial and kidney for women) based on age, sex and lifestyle risk factors (smoking status, body mass index, alcohol consumption, physical activity, red meat consumption, processed meat consumption, fruit consumption and vegetable consumption). For each cancer type and for the five sex-specific cancers combined, the code enables estimation of absolute 10 year risk, risk relative to the average person of the same age and sex in the UK, and risk relative to an individual of the same age and sex who follows a'recommended'lifestyle based on UK Department of Health guidelines and recommendations from the World Cancer Research Fund at the time of publication.
