Application of an Oral Appliance for Endotracheal Tube Fixation in Facial Burn Patients.

Patients with extensive face and neck burns may suffer airway burns and need mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit (ICU). Traditionally, adhesive fabric tape on the facial skin has been used for fixation and to secure the endotracheal tube, but such fixation is inadequate for patients with facial and neck burns because of skin damage.
