A cadaveric anatomical study of the adrenals: Relationship with the posterior abdominal wall muscles revisited

•The main difficulties during retroperitoneal laparoscopic adrenalectomies are due to its location.•Our objective was to define the relationship of the adrenals with the diaphragm and the psoas muscle.•And this is quite innovative way to study adrenal's anatomy and it has direct implication during surgery.•Our work is an anatomical dissection of 80 fresh cadavers adrenals and this allowed us to study anatomy of adrenals and to get closer to the dissection conditions in the living.
