Energy, economic and environmental evaluations for the separation of ethyl acetate/ethanol/water mixture via distillation and pervaporation unit

•Energy, economic and environmental analysis is used to evaluate the four processes.•Hybrid processes combining extractive distillation and pervaporation is used to separate ternary mixture.•Compared with TCED process, EDPV process can achieve 46.47 % CO2 reduction.
