Lanicepsides C-E from the aerial part of Clematis chinensis Osbeck

•Three new phenylpropanoids and twenty-two known compounds were isolated and identified.•Thirteen known compounds were isolated from Clematis chinensis Osbeck for the first time.•Structures of new constituents and cytotoxicity activities were elaborated and provided.
