Contrast sensitivity is an important parameter to evaluate visual characteristic of human eye, which is of great significance to clinical ophthalmology, image technology, environmental lighting, and optical detection, etc. According to the definition of contrast sensitivity, a method ofproducing test targets for human eye contrast sensitivity test is proposed with three-integrating spheres and special light modulators. By designing,' both software and hardware, an automated measurement system is built and human eye contrast sensitivity is measured by psychophysical experiment with cross ladder method. The characteristic of the system is the large contrast adjustment range and effective traceability ofoutput parameters. Spatial frequency covers 0.8cpd--18.0c-pd. It meets the requirement of eye contrast sensitivity test very well. The research not only provides technical support for Attire large sample contrast sensitivity test, but also lays foundation for simulating human visual transfer model and establishing contrast sensitivity database for Chinese population.
