Difficult cannulation of the bile duct during ERCP can occur in 5-10% of cases. Transpancretic papillotomy (TPP) is one of the rescue techniques useful for accessing the bile duct. We performed an updated meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and prospective studies to assess the efficacy and safety of the TPP for ERCP.
