摘要
In this study, lithium-ferrite bioactive glasses were prepared through the sol-gel technique. To evaluate the possible use of prepared bioactive glasses in hyperthermia therapy, the structural and magnetic properties of the glasses were characterized. The morphology and composition of the glasses were evaluated using SEM, XRD, and TEM methods. Laser particle size analyzer (LPSA) was used to study the glass particles' sizes. The final synthesis temperature was determined using DTA. To estimate the magnetic properties, the VSM and Calorimetric analysis were used. The results of VSM and calorimetric analysis showed that the magnetic properties of samples improve as the magnetic portion increases. As shown in the results, the bioactive glasses can provide up to 47.2 degrees C for cancer hyperthermia. LPAS results showed the particles sizes are in the range of 35-85 nm. Conclusively, this research has demonstrated that synthesized glasses are the most promising candidates in cancer therapy using hyperthermia.
