摘要
•Liquid phase exfoliation of antimony in toluene produces a suspension suitable for electrophoretic deposition on titanium dioxide giving rise to a homogeneous coating with controlled thickness.•The new antimonene-TiO2 electrodes are highly stable in acid medium under photoelectrochemical working conditions.•Antimonene films electrophoretically deposited on different substrates show activity as absorber and hole acceptor layer in a photoelectrochemical cell.•Those deposited on titanium dioxide exhibits an enhanced optical absorption and charge separation properties, compared to pristine TiO2 films.
