摘要
The Southern Romanian coast is an area of great significance concerning tourism and recreational activities that take place here. Mamaia is the largest resort of the Romanian coast, in terms of area covered, tourist infrastructure and number of tourists. Climate changes, sea level rise and intensifications of meteorological and hydrological extreme phenomena together with navigation works induced the increasing of environmental risks and important modifications in shore configuration. The surveillance of the shore evolution shows the main locations with weakness and vulnerability. In order to minimize coastal erosion, increase the value of coastal zone and create new tourist beach areas, a Master Plan of the Romanian coastal zone of the Black Sea was developed providing a prioritised, sustainable, long-term approach, oriented to manage and combat erosion consequences and implications on the environment, marine ecosystems, economic and social values of the coastal area. One of the short term priority projects, aimed to reduce the risk of coastal erosion and rehabilitate the shore, is Mamaia South, which started in 2015.
