•Silibinin(SLB) was loaded into porous starch(PS) in the form of nanoparticles (SNPS).•The SNPs had better dissolution properties than free SLB and SLB nanoparticles.•The SNPs has better oral bioavailability than free SLB and SLB nanoparticles.
