摘要

Excited states of Br-80 have been investigated via the Ge-76(B-11, alpha 3n) reaction and a new Delta I = 1 band has been identified which resides similar to 400 keV above the yrast band. Based on the experimental results, a chiral character of the two bands within the pi g(9/2) circle times nu g(9/2) configuration is proposed, which provides the first evidence for chirality in the A similar to 80 mass region.
