Abstract
•For the first time, LiFe1-xMnxPO4 is synthesized by a melting process and shows good electrochemical performance.•Melting process is a simple, easy and quick method to synthesize LiFe1-xMnxPO4 with high quality, allowing the use of low-cost precursors.•LiFe0.25Mn0.75PO4 made by melt synthesis has higher capacity (142 mAh/g) than LiFe0.25Mn0.75PO4 made by solid-state synthesis (130 mAh/g).
