On Professor Tang Zuofan' s Contributions to Chinese Language Research and Development : For the Ninetieth Birthday of Professor

Professor Tang Zuofan, a renowned contemporary phonologist, linguist and educator of the Chinese language in China, has made great academic achievements in teaching and researching for more than sixty years. This paper reviews his academic contributions to Chinese phonology, Chinese history, ancient Chinese, Chinese dialects, dictionary compilation and ancient Chinese teaching.
