摘要
During the 2019 Therapeutic Hypothermia and Temperature Management Symposium in Miami, state-of-the-art lectures on current advancements in the use of temperature management were conducted. Professor Peter Andrews from Edinburgh, Scotland, moderated this informative series of presentations. The panel of three speakers included Dr. Shahed Toossi from Los Angeles, CA, who reported on cerebral autoregulation-oriented therapy after a cardiac arrest in the setting of targeted temperature management (TTM). Dr. Michael Kurz from Birmingham, AL, discussed the importance of peri-arrest coagulation on patient outcomes, and its potential effects on TTM. Finally, Dr. Travis C. Jackson from Pittsburgh, PA, provided preclinical and clinical evidence on cold-adaptive neuroprotectant proteins in the brain, and speculated on their therapeutic potential germane to exciting new avenues of research in the field of temperature management. All of these presentations led to an informative discussion among the attendees of the conference.
