摘要

•A theoretical investigation on the NLO constants are performed.•The studied azo dyes are very promising for optoelectronics.•The NLO response of azo dyes is enhanced by substitution of some chemical groups.•The relationships between static and dynamic hyperpolarizabilities are obtained.
