We demonstrate a telecommunication-compatible bias-free plasmonic photoconductive source that induces a strong built-in electric field to drift the majority of photocarriers to generate terahertz radiation over a bandwidth exceeding 5 THz with a 100-dB dynamic range. (C) 2020 The Author(s)
