摘要
Circularly polarized (CP) antennas have a vital role in wireless communications because of their ability to overcome the multi-path effects. A monopole Ultra Wide Band (UWB) antenna, having a spiral shape with metamaterial unit cell for narrow band resonance at lower frequency has been presented in this article. Coplanar waveguide (CPW) feed has been used for feeding the spiral slot parts to achieve wide bandwidth. In the current research, the antenna is operating from 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz, in addition, it has two lower frequency narrow band resonances for wireless and GSM Communications (GSM) applications at 1.30 GHz and 1.85 GHz, respectively. The antenna is fabricated on single copper cladding FR-4 glass epoxy substrate and has length and width of 40 mm each. The experimental results are presented and have good match with simulation results. The antenna has axial ratio less than 3 dB and 6 dB for most of the band.
