•NASGRO parameters are established for Laser Powder Bed Fusion produced Ti-6Al-4V.•Crack opening in the near-threshold regime is sensitive to build orientation.•Duplex annealing reduces anisotropy between orientations.•Residual stresses observed to not impact the establishment of NASGRO parameters.
