Lenticulostriate vasculopathy (LSV), defined by linear echogenicities in the thalamus and basal ganglia on ultrasound, is a finding reported on 5-20% of screening cranial ultrasounds in preterm infants. However, its significance for predicting future neurodevelopmental outcomes is unclear. Purpose: Describe the incidence of LSV in a cohort of very preterm infants in one level 3 neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and the association between this radiologic finding and 2-year neurodevelopmental outcomes.
