Future changes in the Dominant Source Layer of riparian lateral water fluxes in a subhumid Mediterranean catchment

•DSL: riparian zone layer that contributes most water and solute fluxes to streams.•We explored changes in the DSL under climate scenarios in a Mediterranean catchment.•The DSL will move down in the future reducing water exports to the stream.•Lateral organic matter and carbon exports and concentrations will likely decrease.
