摘要
•The Zn addition can accelerate and enhance age hardening response.•The rod-like Mg5Ga2 precipitate has an orientation relationship of 002Mg5Ga2∥112-0Mg.•More finer precipitates are obtained due to the Zn segregation at the interface.•The Zn addition improves the strength of peak-aged Mg-5Ga alloy but reduces ductility.
