Enhanced electrochemical performance of graphitic carbon-wrapped spherical FeOF nanoparticles using maleopimaric acid as a cathode material for sodium-ion batteries

•Graphitic carbon-wrapped spherical FeOF nanoparticles were prepared using maleopimaric acid by a facile chemical method.•MPA plays a role as a carbon source and a morphology controller in the synthesis of FeOF.•The prepared FeOF nanoparticles show enhanced cycling stability and rate performance as a cathode for SIBs.
