Atypical handedness and its clinicoradiological predictors in children with focal epilepsy

•Focal epilepsy can predispose atypical handedness, especially when seizure onset is in early life.•No relationship was observed between atypical handedness and clinical/demographic variables.•Atypical handedness is associated with abnormal neuroimaging findings.•Intelligence quotient and behavioral abnormality were not different between children with atypical and typical handedness.
