Photodynamic Therapy: Photodynamic Therapy Directed by Three‐Photon Active Rigid Plane Organic Photosensitizer (Adv. Healthcare Mater. 7/2021)

In article number 2001489 by Xiaohe Tian, Dandan Li, and co-workers, a novel rigid planar organic photosensitizer is designed and used for three-photon photodynamic therapy. The concentration of lower dark toxicity can burst superior phototoxicity. After co-incubation with cells, it targets mitochondria and lipid droplets, and generates reactive oxygen species (ROS) under 940nm three-photon laser irradiation to induce cell death and achieve excellent photodynamic therapy effects.
