Fabrication of 3D interconnected porous MXene-based PtNPs as highly efficient electrocatalysts for methanol oxidation

•3D porous structure of e-MXene was designed via a simple embossing approach.•Pt NPs were reduced using MXene as reducing agent.•Pt/e-MXene exhibits enhanced catalytic activity and stability for methanoloxidation.
