Electrochemical evaluation of sulfide mineral modified glassy carbon electrode as novel mediated glucose biosensor

•This study pioneered utilizing natural sulfide minerals and glucose oxidase to fabricate the glucose biosensor.•The detection of glucose was carried out in air-saturated electrolyte solution with the novel biosensor.•Second-generation glucose biosensor was prepared through covalent bonding by using hydroquinone as a mediator.
