A systematic review of stigma interventions for providers who treat patients with substance use disorders

•This systematic review yielded 15 studies - innovative, brief and potentially cost-effective provider stigma interventions.•Increased research on provider stigma interventions indicates greater worldwide attention to the negative impact of stigma.•Interventions that provide contact with individuals in recovery reduce clinician stigma towards patients with SUDs.•Implementation outcomes like sustainability and cost should be included in future provider stigma intervention research.
