Cognitive outcomes following frontal lobe resection for treatment of epilepsy in children and adolescents

•Based on epilepsy-specific RCIs, 15% of patients showed stable cognitive performance.•Cognitive improvement occurred most frequently in visuospatial skills and processing speed.•Cognitive decline occurred most frequently in visuospatial skills and executive function.•Age and baseline cognitive performance were associated with cognitive change in many domains.
