•Mobile behavioural biometrics allow the user authentication in a passive way.•The data acquired can contain a large amount of personal and sensitive information.•We present GaitPrivacyON, a privacy-preserving mobile gait verification approach.•GaitPrivacyON automatically removes the sensitive data using unsupervised learning.
