The gospel of patients with ultra-low rectal cancer: robot-assisted intersphincteric resection-a video vignette

We present the case of a 30-year -old female with change in bowel habits for seven months. Electronic colonoscopy showed a laterally spreading tumour (LST) 6.6cm in size and about 2 cm away from the anus. The patient first underwent endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) surgery. The pathological finding following ESD surgery was villous tubular glands with high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia and partial regional cancerous change. The cancer tissue invaded the submucosa with the depth of infiltration about 1100 um and the blood vessels were invaded by tumour as well.
