摘要
This paper presents an overview of the Competitive Renewable Energy Zones (CREZ) transmission Reactive Compensation Study currently being conducted for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and its member transmission service providers. Both shunt and series, passive and dynamic reactive requirements are being investigated along with their associated system impacts. The study is still in progress, but a few key findings already identified are discussed. These include performance impacts related to the system short-circuit ratio, overvoltage ride through requirements, subsynchronous interactions between wind turbine generators and series capacitors and modeling requirements for wind turbine generators for subsynchronous resonance screening studies.
