摘要
Laparoscopic adrenalectomy (LA) is now the gold standard for the treatment of small, benign adrenal tumors in adults. In Cushing's syndrome (CS), LA is difficult and seldom done, especially in younger children. A 6-year-old girl was diagnosed with CS due to a juxtaadrenal tumor. She underwent LA and made an uneventful recovery. The histopathology was reported as paraganglioma which is a very rare cause of CS. LA is seldom done in younger children with CS owing to extreme obesity, abundant perinephric fat and a high incidence of pre- and postoperative complications. Copyright (C) 2006 S. Karger AG, Basel.
