Sub-wavelength structures are formed on the surface of mercury-free flat fluorescent lamp (MFFL) front glass plate using CF4 and O-2 plasma etching. Transmittance and light extraction efficiency of MFFL improved through the sub-wavelength structures formed on the glass surface which effectively has gradient refractive index change.
